FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

What is the rough-in size?

The rough-in size refers to the distance from the finished wall to the center of the toilet’s waste outlet. The most common size is 12 inches.

What are the differences between standard, chair height, and extra height toilets?

Standard: seat height ≈15″–16″, suitable for most people
Chair height: ≈17″–19″, easier to sit/stand, ideal for adults & seniors
Extra height: 19″+, best for tall users or those with mobility challenges

What is a soft-close and quick-release toilet seat?

Soft-close gently lowers the lid to prevent slamming. Quick-release allows one-click removal for easy, thorough cleaning.

Why should I choose a siphonic flush toilet?

It removes waste quietly and efficiently using a siphon effect, with minimal splashing and better bowl cleaning than direct-flush toilets.

How much water does a toilet use per flush?

Modern toilets typically use 1.6 gallons (6 liters) or less per flush, saving thousands of gallons annually.

What is the MaP rating?

MaP (Maximum Performance) measures how many grams of waste a toilet can remove in one flush. Ratings range 250–1,000g; higher = stronger performance.

How do I select a bidet seat for my toilet?

Identify if your toilet is one-piece or two-piece and if the bowl is round or elongated. Then confirm the bidet’s bolt spacing and size fit perfectly.

How do I raise the water level in the toilet tank?

Adjust the fill valve—either turn the adjustment screw or lift the float arm—to allow more water into the tank.

What does it mean when a toilet is slow to flush?

Usually caused by partial clogs in the rim jets or trap. Clean them first; if still slow, call a plumber.

How can I tell if my toilet is leaking?

Check for water around the base or add food coloring to the tank—if color appears in the bowl without flushing, it’s leaking.

What should I do if my toilet keeps running constantly?

Most often caused by a worn flapper, fill valve, or float. These parts are cheap and easy to replace yourself.

How do I clean and maintain the toilet?

Use mild cleaner and soft cloth. Use a regular brush. Never put bleach tablets in the tank. Check connections regularly.

What supply line sizes are compatible with this toilet?

DeerValley toilets include a 7/8″ adapter. Use it for 7/8″ lines or remove the adapter to connect a 1/2″ supply line directly.

Can I install this toilet if my water supply line is in the floor or wall?

Yes, both floor-mounted and wall-mounted supply lines work. Floor supply is not recommended only with very old cast-iron plumbing.

Who should I contact for warranty issues?

All DeerValley toilets come with a 12-month limited warranty. Email service@deervalleybath.com or call (312) 626-9466.
